In November 2013 are thatcher Ilyas Tuna traveled to Turkey to inspect the water reed. This inspection went well and the water reed is then approved to be cut. The water reed had reached the proper hardness, thickness and strength. Reed also was completely dead, and the reeds had in Turkey had been a few weeks frost.

After the process of mowing the reed thoroughly cleaned in late January 2014. The reed has to dry out sufficiently.

And early February the first reed of 'Tunalar Turkish reed' harvest sendet to the Netherlands. This Turkish water reed is of very good quality and also very clean. Perfect for reed thatcher who likes working with good quality and nice to explain! Thatched roofs.
